The amazing San Juan Islands

Last Friday we headed out of Gig Harbor with thirteen of our friends pulling four boats to Twin Bridges Marina (http://www.twinbridgesmarina.com/ ) located just outside of Mount Vernon, WA.. We launched our boats in the nearby river and headed across the Rosario Straights to the San Juan Islands (http://www.guidetosanjuans.com/ ).

We moored in Friday Harbor and enjoyed the town on Friday. Saturday we headed around San Juan Island on a Killer Whale tour. We were fortunate enough to run into several pods of whales and all kinds of other wildlife. One of our boats actually had a killer whale go so close under his boat that his shallow water alarm went off! After the Orca fun we headed to beautiful Roche Harbor and took in the sites (and food).

On Sunday we woke up to rain and headed back on a "fun" boat ride to Mount Vernon....

Here are some shots of our amazing trip!

Our crazy dog

We have owned Bama, our Yellow Labrador for about six years. She seems to be adjusting to her new home on Ray Nash Drive pretty well. Here are some pictures from the last two days...

Enjoy...

Sunflower Heaven

I was out loading my truck up with wood today at our great friends Mark and Cheryl Hoffman's house. The Hoffman's have amazing gardens loaded with all kinds of flowers berries, etc.. By far my favorite are the sunflowers.

Here are some shots hot off the presses...

Enjoy!

King Salmon Fishing

The Summer run of King Salmon has been on in the Puget Sound for the last couple of weeks. Cindi and I had not had a chance to go out until this evening. We ended up not catching any fish ......but had a great time in the 80 degree weather.

Here are some pics..
(p.s. If you want to view any of my pictures in a larger format, just click on the picture you want to view)
